WordPress Settings

There are a few WordPress settings that play an important role in how your AppThemes enabled website works. We’ll go over those here. More info on WordPress Settings can be found in the WordPress Codex.

To get to WordPress settings, go to the left sidebar menu and click Settings.

General

  • Site Title
    • Add a short descriptive title. This title is used as the title for your site logo.
  • Membership
    • Enable “Anyone can register” to allow visitors registration.
  • New User Default Role
    • Taskerr uses “Contributor” as the default role and we strongly advise to keep it.

Reading

  • Front page displays
    • Taskerr comes with “Front page” set to “Projects” and “Posts page” set to “Blog”. You can change this to suit your needs. We recommend no changes here.

Discussion

If you have not used WordPress before, we recommend reading the WordPress codex page on Discussion settings.

Discussion settings affect the responses/comments behavior and it’s layout. For example, you can enable or disable threaded comments, or require an administrator to review every new response to an idea.

The default settings are recommended.
