Moderating Claimed Listings

If you have claimable listings on your site, chances are you will want to moderate the claims to make sure that they go to the correct person. Especially on high-traffic sites, ensuring that the right person has the right listing is vital to making sure that good content is going up. Luckily, moderating claimed listings is simple and easy.

If you know about how regular moderation works, you’ll find the process to be very similar.

Turning on Moderation

It is very simple to turn on moderation. You can go to the Vantage settings page, and look for the tab called ‘Listings’. Under this tab there will be a check box titled ‘Moderate Claimed Listings’.

After you check this box and press save, Listings will no longer be transfered immediately after they are claimed. Instead, they will move to the ‘Pending – Claimed’ status until you have approved them. You can see all the currently pending claims by looking in the Listings list in your WordPress Administration Panel. To filter out all other listings, simply click ‘Pending – Claimed’.

Note: When a listing has been claimed, it will be taken down from the site during the moderation process. If you choose to reject the claim, it will be restored back to its published status and be listed as claimable again.

Approving a Claim

To approve a claim, you must press the edit button to bring up the listing’s edit page. Once you have looked over the listing, pressing the ‘Accept’ button in the claim moderation queue box will approve the claim.

Like in normal moderation, you’ll notice that the ‘Pricing Info’ box will be empty before the listing is approved. This box includes all of the information for how long a listing will remain on your site, whether or not it is featured, etc. Once you approve a listing, any plans or add-ons that were purchased along with the claim will be applied.
