Maybe you’re launching a new site, or maybe you just want to expand the number of payment options your customers can pay with. Either way, when you’re adding a new payment gateway, you always want to test your payment gateway before making it live to your customers. With Payments, that’s incredibly easy.
When you install a payment gateway, the gateway’s settings is automatically added to the Payment’s Settings in your WordPress Backend. Before enabling your gateway, you can change the settings and make sure that everything is set. But, what if you want to test the gateway before making it available to your customers?
Administrators on Payments sites have a special privilege baked right in. If you are an administrator, you can go through the checkout process just like any customer. However, as an administrator, all payment methods installed on the site will be available to you. You will be able to use any payment gateway you have installed (whether or not it is enabled).
Using this ability, you can make sure that payment gateways are working correctly before launching them.
