Ideas Widgets

We have added several custom widgets to Ideas for the maximum amount of flexibility. Ideas also works with all the WordPress pre-packaged widgets. More info on WordPress Widgets can be found on the WordPress codex.

To get to WordPress settings, go to the left sidebar Appearance > Widgets.

Widgetized Areas

• Main Sidebar (home)
• Header Sidebar (right of the search bar)
• Single Idea Sidebar (individual ideas pages)
• Search Idea Sidebar (search ideas pages)
• Pages Sidebar (single pages)
• Blog Sidebar (blog)
• Footer (3 columns)

Custom Widgets

• Ideas/Responses Stats
  • Displays current statistics for the total submitted ideas and total responses
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Submit Idea Button
  • Adds a big shiny button to the sidebar that users can click to add a new idea to your site
  • The button text can be changed
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Ideas Categories
  • Displays a fancy list of ideas categories
  • The title text can be changed
  • Can display total ideas for each category
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Recent Ideas
  • Displays the most recent ideas
  • The title text can be changed
  • The number of displayed ideas can be changed
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Popular Ideas
  • Displays the most popular ideas
  • The title text can be changed
  • The number of displayed ideas can be changed
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Recent Comments
  • Displays the most recent comments on ideas
  • The title text can be changed
  • Can be added anywhere in the sidebars

• Quick Info
  • Displays context info for the idea being displayed:
    • Idea Added (date added)
    • Last updated (last edit date)
    • Responses (total responses)
    • Status (current status)
  • The title text can be changed
  • Can only be added to the ‘Single Idea Sidebar’

• Voters
  • Displays a list of voters for the idea being displayed
  • The title text can be changed
  • The number of displayed voters can be changed
  • Can only be added to the ‘Single Idea Sidebar’
